Wintry Evenings

Ah the Wintry Evenings.. My all time favorites! When everything is quiet and peaceful and you hear music of life punctuating this silence.. Sitting in my room, browsing through some coding/study material with my Vanilla scented candle on.. And there is orchestra somewhere far-off playing Rajasthani folk music.. Pallu latke ho mhaaro pallu latke .. It just feels as if everything has slowed down, and I can feel the musical notes hanging around me like a heavy cloud of fragrance.. Life seems to have lulled down.. Like flowing tresses of a mermaid gliding underwater.. Can it get any more serene? :) I don't think so.. Peace- Enigma

Miming the Me

Hey peeps! I just threw my phone out of the window miffed by the alarmingly rising breed of self-obsessed people. But before I begin to write this one, let me mention a few things in advance: 1. I am not a saint either, and do not claim to be free from these earthly shortcomings 2. I am not going to reveal any names. So you may resume reading if you were dreading finding your own name below, or you may run the fudge off if you came here for some juicy tidbits. This ain't no gossip blog ju girlies! :P *pretending a serious face* 3. Show some sense of humor and tell your inflated egos to practice laughing back at themselves, lest they burst back at you emulating the complex cellular process cell ingestion by lysosome (yeah, whatever, I know my biology well B) ) Anyway, so after the ritual of ambling off that is so commonplace with me, let us come back to the main ailment. I am observing a very disturbing trend these days. As it is no mystery anymore that I am a software

Have you?

Have you ever felt lonely? Surrounded by people, their movement, their noises.. Have you ever found none to talk to? In a crowd of exchanged 'Hello's and 'Hi's.. Have you ever waited for a real evaluation? Shuffling through a list of comments and compliments.. Have you ever felt all the more alienated, unprobed, untouched? Scorching under those piercing, judgemental stares.. Have you ever found words meaningless? Further emptying the emptiness by their own vacuum.. Have you? Have you ever?

Loneliness Inside

An emptiness plagues me It plagues me from the years   There is something I’m tired of An unseen weight my shoulders bear   There are some days I’m hale and happy Shining with the rising sun   Rest leave me feeling all lone and useless An extra being, the unwanted one   Sometimes weeks run by   Sometimes even minutes won't pass through   I laugh at the stupidity of human mind   All overwhelmed with the future it looks forward to (Just a passing feeling...)

The Crazy Stupid Love of DDLJ

Love is just like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaenge .. Though we know about half a dozen flaws, and a dozen practically impossible scenarios, still we continue going back to and enjoying it time and again… Love is getting fooled again and again, knowing the flaws and glitches, knowing that it may or may not last.. But still being there, trying to enjoy the magic of pheromonal magnetism, as long as it is there. Bah.. the stupid crazy destructive love.. (Dedicated to a destroyed friend - one way or the other :p  May you find your solace)

Battle of the Armrest

In a country like India, with one of the largest and most extensive railway networks in the world, there is no doubt that for the less gifted, who cannot bear the brunt of a super-expensive air ticket and are prone to travel sickness like the author (Yes I’m a narcissist and I know it for referencing to myself in the third person :p ), Railways is the only option. The Indian Railways come in all flavors from 1 st class to 3 rd class, 2-tier, 3-tier and now added to the list Gareeb Rath and other assortment of trains by our ever changing railway ministers trying to woo in the innocent junta by renaming and re-renaming the age-old trains. And just in case if it helps you feel the imagery of a situation I’m in, I’m sitting currently in an AC coach of the famous Shatabdi Express trying to link the cool AC breeze with the overcast dark rainy weather that I see through the window to my right side. Heavenly, right?! Yes I know. But the price to pay involves planning your trave

Outrunning the Rut

Hi my eye-candies!! So whats up? Is it the cliche 'Same old, same old'? Believe me, it happens with all of us (yeah some of us do make exceptions, by being certified Bohos born wearing sneakers and carrying a travel backpack, or with a neon red mohawk, or a pierced tongue) but for the rest of us, "routine" is the Usain bolt, that manages to catch up with us how much we elude it. Like take   moi  for example (teeheehee).. Being a morning person, I get up at 0630 hrs, get fresh and fragrant to welcome the day, do my   Yoga /Belly Dance/ Bhangra   workouts and head to work at exact 0752 hrs for my work. Then, the breakfast till 0900 hrs, followed by gruesome work till 1230 hrs, followed by a lunch and a power nap till 1400 hrs. After that, its all about getting back to work, coming home, reading newspaper, cooking dinner and browsing randomly while eating, and finally going to sleep by 2300 hrs. Pretty boring and predictable yeah?! The weekends also ar

My Wardrob-orous Theory

Has it ever happened to you that after a whole week of working like a dog (just a figure of speech though.. Never seen dogs working even as much as a laziest homo sapiens) and sleeping just 3-4 hours a night, when you finally land on your bed on a Friday evening, the sleep spell never seems to diminish, and the weekend ends up becoming a vicious cycle of sleeping and eating, until the evil Monday comes, reminding you of all the internet, electricity, water, house rent, society bills that demand that you go back to work dawdling along like a sloth (getting the image?! ;) ) Anyway, so the point of all this experience sharing is to rub upon the face of the whole scientific community, that you may keep on exhausting your brains trying to figure out the working of a brain (ooh! Ironic), but I have come up with a big discovery -   Human brains are just like the closet of a shopaholic girl*.  For those flaunting a lifelong membership of ISKCON (Thank God none can ban blogs.. Lazy Bones at XWarriors

Has it ever happened to you that you are so sleepy that you just can't shun the warmth of your cozy, soft bed, but you're so hungry at the same time that your bed might soon become your grave if you don't get up and grab something to eat?! :D Share with me you have faced such dilemmas, at least for once or twice, in your lives, lest this guilt of being the laziest person on earth kills me. On coming to a new city, after spending 21 yrs (yes it's a long period.. Please don't raise your brows till your hairline) of my life in the military discipline of my home, I've realized that I'm not as disciplined and active, as I used to give myself credit for. But I have a knack for surprising myself. It was the first obstacle race of my life today, and second sporting event (never been too sporty :| books are just so demanding and attractive at the same time (sorry if it reminds you of your high school girlfriend :p   'demanding and attractive' )

A Spring Wedding

I just love weddings.  And spring weddings, they are my favorite. Though 'Monsoon Wedding' is a highly publicized concept, but for me, spring does the charm (so much so that I've already decided to get married on a crisp March morning, not that there is someone in question yet ;-) but hmf.. a girl and her wedding fantasies. I tell you this is one of the things we girlies are good at, and we do love our wedding fantasies. :> ) Anyway, the reason for this nuptial fever is (i) Spring Season aka Wedding Season is about to begin here in India (obviously!), and (ii) I have my cousin's wedding round the corner (hurrah!!) So, this post is going to be all about the fun affair, called   Anand Karaj. Apart from lots of shopping and yummy (and highly calorific) food, Indian, especially Punjabi weddings are famous for many other things (ooh, I really had to curb myself from using bullet points here; see, that's what making all those office presentations

Love Defined..

I woke up in the morning with nothing special to look up to, like all my other days, as living in this fast, emotionless metro is turning my life into that of a workaholic robot, with no time to stand and behold. Yes yes I know - it is part of the package of having a well-paying white-collar job, but it gets too much sometimes for a small-town girl's deceased dreams of a more romantic and glamorous life. But sometimes my life really knows how to surprise me. I ended up having a great day at work, including a birthday bash, and a pizza party with pals after so long. To top it off, I finally was able to push my lazy bones and sweat it out on the treadmill, followed by a futile-yet-fun shopping spree with my roomie (sorry but 'flatie' is no word. I googled it just now)/soul sister/away-from-home-mama (would get back to her in some future post. Pinky promise! :p) However, the best moment of the day was when I realized something divine (eh?!) while commuting back

An Awkward Start

Hey readers (if I have any yet!) :) Phew! I feel so lame writing this, but as they say.. One should never keep things in his/her heart, venting them out, accepting your feelings in public is what makes you (or one?) a stronger and responsible person ( and yes I was promising myself not to be a preacher this year.. Phew no hope for me! ) But anyway, back from the rambling-tour, this blog is going to be about Me (Duh!!) and my life's journey, chronicling all the glorious, humiliating, rewarding, shocking (Okay not all, but most hopefully) events of my life, just not for me, but for the ones who care for me too. So yayy!! All the stalkers and paparazzo, get ready to lose your jobs now cuz Enigma is coming with her sharp-toothed yet dim-witted quill... :D Stay tuned for more! Love you ol! And keep loving life! Enigma
